The job, day to day
Video is everywhere: music videos, reports, corporate films, coverage of weddings and ceremonies, and social media content. A camera operator and editor knows how to shoot beautiful, steady footage, record clean sound, then bring it all together into a story that holds the viewer to the end.
The course covers the whole process. On the shooting side, you learn to handle video and mirrorless cameras, framing, camera movement, lighting and sound recording. On the editing side, you learn professional software: logging footage, building the story, pacing, transitions, colour grading, sound mixing and export. The audiovisual department also practises in the centre's Le Déclic studio.
The projects you complete during the course become your showreel. You leave able to produce a complete video, for a production company, a television channel, an agency or your own clients.
