The job, day to day
China has become a major partner of Cameroon, in trade, large construction projects and education. Speaking Mandarin, even at a basic level, is a rare and noticed asset: for a trader who imports, for an employee of a Chinese company, or for a student aiming for a scholarship.
In three months, you learn the basics of the language: pronunciation and tones, the pinyin system, your first characters and the essential phrases to introduce yourself, shop, negotiate and travel. Classes take place in comfortable rooms with free wifi, and teaching materials are provided free of charge. A free placement test puts you in the right group.
At the end, you receive a certificate from the centre and have solid foundations to keep learning and aim for Chinese language certifications.
